What information we collect

When you apply for membership or create a profile with Ainly, we collect:

• Your name, age, gender, and location
• Your relationship status and relationship goals
• Your email address
• Payment information for paid membership tiers, processed securely through Stripe — we do not store card details
• Information you provide in your compatibility profile, including values, lifestyle preferences, and relationship history

We collect this information directly from you when you submit an application or complete your profile.

How we use your information

We use your personal information to:

• Assess your application for membership
• Create and maintain your compatibility profile
• Identify and facilitate introductions with other members
• Communicate with you about your membership and introductions
• Process payments for paid membership tiers
• Improve our matching process and service quality

We do not use your information for advertising purposes. We do not sell your data to third parties.

Who we share your information with

Your information is shared only in the following circumstances:

With other members: When we facilitate an introduction, we share relevant profile information with the person being introduced to you — and only with them. We will always notify you before an introduction is made.

Service providers: We use the following third-party services that may process your data on our behalf:

• Supabase — for secure data storage and infrastructure. Supabase's privacy policy is available at supabase.com/privacy.
• Stripe — for secure payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

These providers are required to handle your data in accordance with applicable privacy laws and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

We do not share your information with any other third parties without your explicit consent, except where required by law.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase's infrastructure. We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access. However, no data transmission or storage system can be guaranteed as completely secure.

Sensitive information

Your compatibility profile may contain sensitive information, including details about your relationship history and personal values. We handle this information with additional care and do not disclose it to anyone outside of the matching process without your consent.

How long we keep your information

We retain your personal information for as long as your membership is active and for a reasonable period afterwards in case of queries or disputes. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Your rights below).

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
• Request deletion of your information
• Make a complaint about how we have handled your information
